Following last season's exciting workshop premiere of "The Family Room," Opera New Jersey once again joins with Brooklyn-based American Opera Projects to present Blessed Art Thou Amongst Women — staged readings of two virtuosic operatic monodramas meditating on the religious and feminine icon The Virgin Mary: Gregory Spears' Our Lady (from medieval Provençal texts) and Tarik O’Regan's The Wanton Sublime (with a libretto by A. Rabinowitz). The new works shall be paired with a unique staged performance of Vivaldi's Stabat Mater. There will be talkbacks with the artists & creators after each show.
