Donna Brazile to Speak at the State Theatre

New Orleans native Donna Brazile is a veteran Democratic political strategist, adjunct professor at Georgetown University, and on-air contributor to CNN, NPR, and ABC, where she regularly appears on ABC’s This Week. Brazile is also the author of the best-selling memoir Cooking with Grease: Stirring the Pots in American Politics, and a syndicated newspaper columnist for Ms. Magazine. She will be speaking on February 28, 7:30 PM at the State Theatre in New Brunswick as part of the SmartTalk connected conversations series.

Ms. Brazile was Vice President Al Gore’s campaign manager in 2000, making her the first African-American female to manage a presidential campaign. She was listed as one of the 100 Most Powerful Women  by Washingtonian magazine, The Oprah Magazine chose her as one of its 20 “remarkable visionaries” for the magazine’s first-ever Power List, and she’s ranked as one of the Top 50 Women in America by Essence magazine.

Ms. Brazile is a remarkable visionary and I am glad that her presence will grace the State Theatre. I truly enjoy any individual that can use the power of the spoken and written language to effect change in society. Thanks to Smart Talk for bringing her to town and giving away two tickets. I would love to attend this event. Dorothy

I'm always happy about the caliber of speakers SmartTalk is able to attract, and thrilled that it's in New Brunswick and not NYC or Philly. It's fantastic to have Donna Brazile speak during election year!

They are having her speak because she is a woman who has run a presidential campaign. A person who holds a a historical perspective that is rare. As for your claims that she is in some way racist, because she dared talk about the realities of modern politics and race... Well its rather clear that in your life experience you have never seen or been part of real racism. and that is all I will say about that to you.
