The Princeton Environmental Film Festival begins Thursday.

 

Monday

Suzanne Neilson of “The Organized Life” will give a talk, “Organize and Simplify.” 7 p.m., Free.

Tuesday

A panel of educators will participate in a panel called “Waste NOT in Schools.” Panelists include Kevin Lyons of Rutgers University, Norm Torkelson from Hopewell Valley Regional Schools, and Joy Barnes-Johnson of . 4:30 p.m., Free. 

TEDx Salon - Perspectives on Education, will feature three speakers with perspectives on education in the 21st century. Community Room, 6:30 p.m. 

Teens are invited to the Princeton Public Library's Technology Center for teen-only sessions designed to encourage creative collaboration on the new iMacs. 4-6 p.m., Free. 

Join Socrates Cafe to discuss, question and present multiple perspectives on topics of interest to the group. 7 p.m., Free. 

 

Wedensday

Alex Freund will present Networking Demystified, 7 p.m., Free. 

Sustainable Princeton will present its Leadership Awards  to individuals and organizations are recognized for enhancing the community’s sustainability in areas such as green building, healthy eating, buying local, changing consumer habits and more. 7 p.m., Free.

Princeton University professor of Slavic languages and literature Caryl Emerson tells the story of unearthing, and re-creating for production, a lost Prokofiev project from the 1930s. 4:30 p.m., Free. 

 

Thursday

The Princeton Environmental Film Festival opens with “Connected: An Autoblogography of Love, Death and Technology” by Webby Awards founder Tiffany Shlain. The film was an official selection of the Sundance Film Festival last year. The director who will be present for a Q&A following the film. 7 p.m., Free. 

 

Friday

Princeton Environmental Film Festival presents the film "Hummingbirds : Magic in the Air" a look at the hummingbirds’ magical world. Footage shows these little powerhouses are far more than delicate nectar gatherers — they are also deadly predators. Filmed using cameras able to capture over 500 images a second. A talk by Charles Leck will follow the film. 4 p.m., Free.

Princeton Environmental Film Festival presents the film "Queen of the Sun: What are the Bees Telling Us?" a look at the long-term causes behind the global bee crisis through the eyes of biodynamic beekeepers, commercial beekeepers, scientists and philosophers. 7 p.m., Free.
