Deer Culling Underway in Princeton

The program runs through March 10.

 

The deer management program has begun in Princeton and sharpshooting from platforms may take place on the following streets between now and March 10, according to Princeton officials.

Great Road
Herrontown Road
Lawrenceville-Princeton Road
Mercer Road
Mountain Ave
Mt. Lucas Road

Pretty Brook Road
Princeton-Kingston Road
Quaker Road
Ridgeview Road
River Road
Rosedale Road
Running Cedar Road
State Road (Rt 206)
Stockton Road
Wendover Drive
West Drive
Wittmer Court

Pursuant to the New Jersey Fish and Wildlife permit issued to Princeton for the 2013 community-based deer management program, deer removal activities may take place on the properties, although specific locations of the deer removal activities will change from day to day depending on that day’s weather conditions, wind speed and direction.

Each year the Township reduces its deer population to lower the number of deer v. vehicle accidents, reduce landscape damage and restore balance to the local ecology.
